I'm going to give her your poem!Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13294455230627182656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7578454697877614703.post-56945552795216311822015-04-14T06:40:06.790-04:002015-04-14T06:40:06.790-04:00Been there, done that...Been there, done that...Mary Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09078793537148794310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7578454697877614703.post-85901399120090434042015-04-13T23:32:53.784-04:002015-04-13T23:32:53.784-04:00Linda- Some big truth here for sure!Linda- Some big truth here for sure!Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13294455230627182656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7578454697877614703.post-83594432995839147452015-04-13T22:50:19.588-04:002015-04-13T22:50:19.588-04:00I was thinking of a little girl, sad to say "...I was thinking of a little girl, sad to say "me", a long ago memory, and learning. . . Then I start listing images that go with the word. (Or puns, which always seem to come unbidden...sigh.) All those images become the seeds for that meditation, I guess.

It's been very interesting so far. I'm finding myself fighting to be more concrete. The emotions (as nouns) are kind of abstract, I think. I'm finding that I struggle against "telling" too much background in the poem. I'll get better, I'm sure, but I wonder if this is even more of a struggle for me because the emotions are more abstract...? Just offering some observations about my own process, I guess. I didn't like meditating on hate. As your poem shows, we haven't really come very far (perhaps no forward movement at all??) as a people in evolving away from hate and conflict.
