Earthworm's Rain Song

Earthworm's Rain Song

My tunnel wasn't flooded
as you used to think was true.

Your sidewalk's now my highway --
step aside, I'm wriggling through!

I'm on my way to somewhere else
with roots and leaves to chew.

I'm helpful, don't you realize --
rich soil is earthworm poo!

  2. Thanks, Mary Lee, for wriggling into my rainy heart with this earthworm poem! I hope this fellow will be happy in the company of cicadas, fireflies, and ants in our DMC celebration next week. :)

  4. Another wonderful poem to bring in spring. The ending is great. At the St. Patrick's Day Parade in our village, there was a special poop truck to pick up the horse dung. The workers got a rousing applaud for their service.
