Autumn Acrostic

a tree in our neighborhood

At first, it goes
Unnoticed.
Then it is
Undeniable. Almost like
Magic, summer is gone.
No more shorts and swimsuits.

  1. Yes. At first it goes unnoticed. On the dog walk through the woods and prairie this morning I paused and listen to the quiet. There isn't a quiet in my neck of the woods quite like the quiet of late October, early November. The birds and insects are gone and the harvesting is over, so all that's left is the wind and the rustle of grasses. Probably you know and love these sounds from e. CO, too.

The last line sounds like 5th-graders!
