Making a Difference in a Distracted and Divided World
From the 3/31/26 NYT article “They’re Going to the Moon and They Know Not Everyone Is With Them: Can the four astronauts of the NASA mission Artemis II make a difference in a distracted and divided world?”
Mary Lee, I am enjoying the way you are using the same form all month and wondering what you will learn about it - and you - as it goes. As for Artemis, I cannot help but to worry for these astronauts with things are as they are. I read some posts about folks being taken back to the Challenger explosion, and I was too. I was in middle school, visiting my friend Theresa above her parents' deli, watching the launch, devastated. I wonder how these four astronauts will see things from a distance.
In childhood when we were all clustered in front of the TV whatever NASA was doing. The world is so loud (and NASA so battered) that the magic of space seems diminished.
